Living in ranch country, traveling in Asia and a visit at the De Young Museum's Picasso show in San Francisco must have made me see these animal heads when I collected material at a beach in Northern California.

I stretched canvas over wooden boards, primed and painted them with oil pastels before mounting the driftwood sculptures.
